Privacy Policy
Effective October 2, 2026
Future Ready Kids is a web-based life-skills program for families with kids ages 7–14. A parent or guardian owns each account, and kids use profiles set up under that parent account. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it and the choices you have. It applies to our website and the signed-in family app.
1. Who this service is for
Future Ready Kids is designed to be set up and managed by parents and legal guardians in the United States. Adults create the account. Kids do not create their own accounts and are not asked for an email address, phone number or password. A parent decides whether to add a kid profile and confirms their permission when adding one.
2. Information parents provide
- Account information: your email address and password (passwords are stored by our authentication provider in hashed form, not readable by us), and an optional first name.
- Google sign-in: if you choose Continue with Google, we receive basic profile information from Google needed to sign you in, such as your email address and name. We do not receive your Google password.
- Family and kid profiles: the family owner creates and controls the family and every kid profile. For each kid we store a first name or nickname you choose (display name) and an age version (7–10 or 11–14). We record when and by which parent account permission was given for each kid profile.
- Family members: if the owner invites another adult, we store the invited email address, the invitation status, and that adult's membership and access level in the family, plus a record of access changes.
- Reminder settings: who receives reminders (parent, kid, both or none), chosen days, time, daily limit, quiet hours, time zone and which reminder types are on.
- Checkup responses: answers to the Future Ready Checkup for a kid, and the skill suggestion produced from them. Checkups are snapshots for choosing a starting point, not tests or diagnoses.
- Parent-entered records: parent weekly reviews, parent observations and notes, and parent completion notes.
Information a kid enters in Kid Mode. When a kid uses Kid Mode under the parent's account, they can record: practice check-ins (for example "Did it", "Almost" or "Didn't happen"), reflection choices and short reflection text, kid weekly reviews, project planning and answers, and Skill Path completion records. We also record which Skill Paths a kid starts, pauses, ends or completes. This information is stored in the family account, visible to that family's adults, and not shown to anyone else.
Please don't include sensitive details (such as health, medical or contact information) in free-text reflections or notes. They aren't needed to use the service.
2A. Kid reminders and connected devices
Kid reminders are optional and off unless the family owner turns them on. Only the owner can connect a kid's device: the owner creates a one-time setup link (it expires after 15 minutes and can be used once), opens it on the kid's device, and the browser asks for notification permission. No child email address, phone number or account is needed.
For each connected device we store:
- which kid and family it belongs to;
- the Web Push subscription the browser creates — a push service address (endpoint) and encryption keys — used only to deliver that kid's reminders;
- a device label and the browser's user-agent text, so the owner can recognize and remove the device;
- when it was connected, last used, and revoked.
We do not store the kid device's IP address in our database. Reminder messages contain only short, general practice prompts; tapping one opens Kid Mode for that kid. Reminder delivery records (type, scheduled time, status, sent and tapped times) are kept to avoid duplicates and respect daily limits.
To deliver a notification, the encrypted message passes through the push service run by the kid's browser or device maker (for example Google, Apple or Mozilla), which processes the delivery data as needed to show the notification. The owner can remove a device at any time in Reminder Settings, which stops delivery to it. Push subscriptions are never used for advertising or marketing.
3. The public Checkup on our website
You can take the public Future Ready Checkup without an account. Those answers are kept in your own browser so you can resume, and are not sent to our servers unless you later sign in and complete a Checkup inside a family account.
4. Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our hosting and infrastructure providers process technical information such as IP address, browser type and request logs to deliver pages, keep the service secure and troubleshoot problems. We do not use advertising cookies, third-party ad trackers or third-party analytics on the site.
We keep our own first-party product analytics in our own database to understand how parents find us and use the service: for example, which pages and buttons are used, whether the Checkup was started or finished, the campaign or referring website that brought a visitor (such as utm tags or a "source" link), and account milestones such as adding a kid profile or completing a practice. These records use a random visitor ID stored in your browser and, once you sign in, your account and family ID. They do not include your email, your kids' names, Checkup answers, or the text of reflections, notes or observations, and we do not copy IP addresses into them. This information is not sold or shared for advertising, and it is removed or made anonymous if your account is deleted. Analytics also never include practice outcomes in detail, reflection or review content, push subscription details, or payment card information.
5. Cookies and browser storage
We use your browser's storage for things the service needs to work:
- keeping you signed in (authentication session);
- remembering which kid profile is selected during your visit;
- saving an unfinished Checkup so you can pick up where you left off.
- a random visitor ID and visit ID used for our own first-party analytics described above.
If you clear your browser storage, you may be signed out and unfinished Checkup drafts may be lost. Signing in with Google also involves cookies set by Google and our sign-in provider during the sign-in process.
6. How we use information
- to create and operate your family account and kid profiles;
- to personalize the experience, such as showing age-appropriate content and suggesting a Skill Path from a Checkup;
- to save progress and show your family's practice history and Future Ready Profile;
- to send account emails, such as sign-up confirmation and password reset;
- to secure the service, prevent misuse and fix problems;
- to respond to your questions and support requests;
- to maintain and improve the service;
- to comply with legal obligations.
We do not use kids' information for advertising, and we do not build marketing profiles about kids.
7. How information is shared
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share information only:
- With service providers who host, store and run the service on our behalf, including cloud hosting, database and authentication providers, and the email delivery service used for account emails. They may use the information only to provide services to us.
- With Stripe, our payment processor, if you buy a membership — see Payments below.
- With Google, only if you choose Google sign-in, as needed to sign you in.
- With browser push services (such as Google, Apple or Mozilla), only if the owner connects a kid device for reminders, as needed to deliver the notification.
- For legal reasons, when we believe in good faith it's required by law or needed to protect the rights, safety or security of our users, the public or Future Ready Kids.
- In a business transfer, such as a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, where information may transfer to the successor, subject to this policy.
Within a family account, information is visible to that family's adult members (the owner and any family members the owner invited). It is not visible to other families. We do not sell kids' information or share it with advertisers, and the site uses no third-party advertising trackers.
8. Payments
Memberships are processed by Stripe, Inc., our payment processor. When you start a membership, you enter your card or other payment details directly with Stripe. We never receive or store your full card number.
To link your membership to your family account, we share your account email and internal account and family identifiers with Stripe, and Stripe shares back billing identifiers and status: your Stripe customer and subscription IDs, the plan you chose, trial and renewal dates, payment and invoice status, and refund records. We use this only to provide and manage your membership. Stripe handles your payment information under its own privacy policy.
We keep billing and transaction records for as long as needed for accounting, tax, fraud-prevention and legal obligations, which may be longer than the rest of your account information — including after account deletion, in a minimal form.
9. Children's privacy (kids under 13 and parent-managed use)
Future Ready Kids is a parent-directed service for kids ages 7–14. Kids do not create their own accounts. We collect kids' information only through a parent's family account.
- What the parent provides: the kid's first name or nickname, their age version (7–10 or 11–14), and, if the family owner turns them on, reminder settings and connected kid devices.
- What the kid may enter: Checkup answers inside the family app, Practice check-ins (did it / almost / not yet), and short reflection choices or text, plus Skill Path project answers.
- What we don't collect from kids: email, phone number, last name, address, location, photos, or contact details. There are no public profiles, chat, or messaging between users.
- Why we use it: only to run the family's program: show the right Practices, save progress, show history to the family, and send reminders the owner turned on.
- No ads or sale: we do not show targeted advertising, do not sell or share kids' information for advertising, and do not use third-party advertising or tracking tools in the app. Our own first-party usage records never include kids' names or what they write.
- Kid reminder devices: only the family owner can connect or disconnect a kid device (see section 2A).
- Parent consent: before a kid profile is created, the family owner must confirm they are the kid's parent, legal guardian, or another authorized adult and consent to this use. We record who confirmed and when. We are still reviewing, with legal counsel, whether additional verification steps are needed.
- Parent rights: a parent can review their kid's information in the family app, archive a kid profile, disconnect devices, and from Privacy & account data request a copy, a correction, or deletion. Email futurereadykidsco@gmail.com to ask us to delete a single kid's profile and records, or to stop further collection.
If you believe a child has provided information to us without a parent's involvement, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Retention
We keep account, family, kid profile and progress information while your account is active so your family's practice history stays available, and delete it when a parent asks us to (see below). Shorter-lived records are removed on a schedule:
- Kid device connection codes: deleted 7 days after they expire or are used.
- Unaccepted family invitations: deleted 30 days after they expire or are cancelled.
- Reminder delivery records: deleted after 180 days.
- First-party usage records: kept up to 25 months, then deleted.
- Staff security and privacy-request records: kept up to 3 years to show requests were honored.
- Database backups: kept by our hosting provider for about 14 days, then overwritten.
When we fulfil a verified deletion request, we delete the parent sign-in account, parent profile, family, every kid profile in it and all related Checkup answers, progress, reflections, reviews, notes, reminder settings and connected kid devices and reminder records, and we cancel any active membership in Stripe first. We keep a minimal record that the request was made and completed (the request reference, type, dates and the requesting email address) to show we honored it, and we may keep other limited information only where the law requires it or to resolve a dispute or prevent abuse. Residual copies may remain in routine backups for a limited period until they are overwritten.
11. Your choices and rights
- Access and update: parents can view kid profiles and progress in the family app, and edit kid profile details there.
- Privacy requests: signed-in parents can go to Privacy & account data in the family app to request deletion of their account and family data, a copy of their data, or a correction. You can also email futurereadykidsco@gmail.com from the email address on the account. Only the family owner can request deletion of the whole family account.
- Verification and timing: we verify a request before acting on it — we may email you at the account address to confirm it's you — and nothing is deleted until the request is verified. We respond to verified privacy requests without undue delay and generally within 45 days, unless a shorter period is required by law.
- Deletion is not cancellation: deleting your account or data is separate from cancelling a membership and does not by itself create a refund. Cancellation and refunds are handled under our Terms of Service.
- Emails: we currently send only account emails you need to use the service, such as confirmations and password resets.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state privacy laws. We will respond to requests as required by applicable law.
12. Security
We use reasonable safeguards designed to protect information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords and access rules in the database that keep each family's information separate from other families'. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please use a strong, unique password and keep it private.
13. Where information is processed
The service is intended for use in the United States. Our service providers may process information in the United States and in other countries where they operate.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service changes. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify account holders by email or in the app before the changes take effect.
